2015 6.7L issues with dead batteries/sitting too long:
So my 2015 6.7L has been sitting way too long resulting in a no start condition and TONS of alerts. It's been about 90+ days since I last drove for any length of time. Even with fresh new batteries having been topped off with a stand alone charging unit the dash alert messages are plentiful with no starting possible. Motor/starter will not bump. Fuel pump doesn't even run. One of the dash messages is Starting System Fault, but there's plenty others. My thoughts have been the BCM has sat too long without proper power. Please remember the truck ran with no issues prior to being parked. I'll be looking into the wiring under the truck but so far inspections haven't found issues.
Any other ideas for inspection points, or areas of concern. Thanks all!
Okay with the typical craziness on troubleshooting problems. Took apart the wheel well liners to check for rodents eating the harnesses, I found nothing. I had the hood up so I decided to take another look around the engine bay. Told myself "Maybe disconnect and inspect the PCM connections.". I had previously popped off the middle connector, so I took all three off, looked over the pins, and connected back the harnesses. Figured I was done for the day so I took a shot, put the key into the cylinder, turned the key, and waited for all the alerts and messages to pop up. I said to myself "Wait a minute.....why are there no alerts and messages popping up now?????". Turned the key to start the motor.....fired up with no issues as it had always done in the past. Let it warm up for a bit. Turned it off. Put some other stuff back together. Got back inside the cab, started up the truck, drove through the neighborhood slow for a bit. Hit the road for some fresh fuel. Ran the AC. Just blew it out a bit.....
She sat for over 3 months....runs like nothing ever happened.
