I've been towing our ~10K camper around with my Excursion for about the last 7 years. Been on a few 4,000+ mile round trips, and a bunch of smaller ones. I can remember seeing a few Excursions at the campgrounds in the early days, but I can't remember seeing even one in the last several years. It's to the point now that I actually get attention from people who don't know what it is. One instance just happened at a short little trip we just got back from. Someone was asking if it was a new model (in all honesty, it does look brand new. . . from about 20 feet). Even on the roads. I don't know, it just seems like I'm not seeing any other Excursions on the roads anymore even compared to 5 years ago.
Not sure where you're at, but it's the opposite here in the Carolina's. I'm always saying there are so many Excursions running around that it'll be some time before they're gone. There never seems to be a shortage of them listed in F/B marketplace, Ebay, or Craigslist.
Same here is central-ish Texas, no shortage of Excursions really (which I think is a good thing).
Although they're still just as expensive for some reason, guess the internet has ruined used car prices because now everyone just sees what stuff is selling for everywhere and assumes their junk is worth that much.

The OP is in WI, they all rusted away a few years ago…………
We have been towing with our EX since 2010 and have logged over 80K miles with a couple of different campers on the hitch. Last year we traveled 15K miles with our TT on a few long trips and a bunch of more local runs. On our trip from Philly to WY I saw 4 other EXs at campgrounds towing and tried to talk to all of the owners, found one guy with a very clean V-10 in WY that is actually a member here! On another trip last year to West TX I saw another 4 EXs at various campgrounds, again talked to all of the owners who were all super cool, of course as they do drive the King of SUVs. But I do agree that for the most part there are currently far less of our big wagons populating the campgrounds compared to several years ago. I hope that my EXs next owners will use it as a tow rig, it’s done very well in that role for us.
It just depends where you live as to how many excursions you see on the road. Here in las vegas I see about 1 or 2 a week when driving in mine. It the snow belt your not going to see many as you do here in the southwest.they are going to keep going up in price.i can't bealieve that I can sell mine for more then double of what I paid for it.and it is one of the last still under 100000 miles just hit 98000. I hope the Rummer I herd is true that in 2025 the excursion is comming back once more by ford. Have a good day mal11963
Folks are "trading up" for these new trucks with the direct injected gas engines and diesel engines with double the torque and horsepower.
The caveat: You're trading ALL the room you could possibly need for some bells, whistles, some modern refinements, and something you yourself can't fix if it breaks down. At the dealership, you might be in and out and sometimes you're looking at a 6 week wait for them to look at it. (This is coming from a service advisor I know)
As nice as those newer trucks are, there are no shortage of Excursions here in Texas. They're everywhere working or playing. There was a time they all went into hiding though lol
Here in las vegas there are many as well and I see many for sale at under 5000 why they need a trany in most cases or a gas engine and they are a profit maker bye fix and flip for 4 3 to 4 times what you payed for it

Which is why I would like a new Super Duty in the future, but wait, things are going subscription fee based, not something I'm down for.
I can afford a new truck but why they don't make the ex9c0ursion any more and I own one and nothen out there in suv can give me the size and towing I have in a suv. If ford brings back the excursion in 25 as I am hearing then maybe. But I can hook up the travel trailer put my 3 belgion malinois in the truck 🚚 and my wife and I are on the way to a road trip.getting ready for one in November to grays harbor in Washington to check out the area thinking of moving there from las vegas.
