I have a 1952 F-1 Deluxe Five Star Extra Cab pickup that has electric wipers. I am looking for a **** to fit the spline shaft in the picture. Can anyone help me with this ****? I have bought two ***** that say they are for electric wipers and they are incorrect.
You are correct. The truck is original but the switch could have been replaced with an aftermarket switch. Anyone have a **** laying around that will fit this splined shaft? I wonder if the switch was replaced with an newer Ford switch? Any help is appreciated Notice that the **** is missing. The only thing I have left to complete this restoration
I could be wrong, but I think that's actually the inside of an old factory **** and the outer plastic shell is missing. I swear that's what mine looked like after the factory **** on mine disintegrated. That was a long time ago, so I could be mis-remembering that.
Albuo F-1, did it have splines or was the shaft half flat?
As I recall, it was just splined, but my switch is long gone. I am now using the **** on an aftermarket wiper system that is just splined.

Are you talking about my ****? It is a die cast, chrome plated ****.
I had the same somewhat embarrassing experience as JP. I'd purchase ***** on-line that were supposed to be correct for my truck, and they wouldn't work. I was convinced my switch required some non-stock type of ****. As the ***** I had didn't fit, I started using a small vice grips to turn the wipers on and off when needed. It wasn't a very attractive option, but it got the job done. One day, I squeezed the exposed stem of the switch a little harder than usual, and much to my surprise, the splines deformed, and I discovered they could be removed. With the splines removed, my stock ***** worked. One caveat though--my wipers are vacuum and yours are electric. Our switches (and *****) may be different. Good luck.

I'm talking about the **** 52Truckin has pictured. It looks like similar to what I had on my truck when the outer plastic shell rotted/broke off. I looked in the garage to see if I still had it, but I couldn't find it. Instead, I've got the next best thing, a blurry picture of what my **** looked like when it was still in the truck. Not definitive proof that's what he has. Also, if you squint real hard, I think you can see bigfoot.
Pick a **** that you like. Measure the outer diameter of the splined shaft on the switch in your dash. Drill out the hole in the **** to match the splined shaft. Mix some JB Weld, epoxy, or whatever and fill the hole in the ****. Slide the **** over the shaft taking care not to make a mess with whatever adhesive oozes out.. Let cure and Bob's your uncle...
