Ok,thanks.Should truck have a G code on data plate if it is a MX? Sorry, reason for questions is I am going to look at a 66 for sale today,.seems like maybe a good solid pretty original truck.Another thing I noticed it has the extra gauges like a Camper Special and it is just an F100 short bed custom cab?Could this maybe be factory? Here is photo of inside.Truck suppose to have 98,000 original miles.
G was used for both the MX-COM and the C4, but if it's a 352 then it should be a MX-COM.
That interior looks very original. Shift bowl and shifter handle look to have been changed but nothing else jumps out at me.
They did make an F100 Camper Special and it would have gotten those gauges without ordering them. But, the gauges are not specific to a Camper Special as they could have been ordered in any truck. My two 1966 F250 4x4 trucks both came with the gauges, and they didn't make a F250 4x4 Camper Special in these years.

Thanks TA455HO,I did notice that shifter and thought that wasn't correct. What should the shifter look like for an automatic? Here is more photos of truck he is asking 14K?
Looks like one peach of a truck! They did put taillights from a 1967+ truck on the rear with integrated backup lights. That's not a bad upgrade.
Here's a fairly decent picture of what the original shift **** looked like. This truck had under 12,000 miles at the time.
Yours appears to be like those from a newer year truck like 1967-69. Looks like this one probably.
The original style is not reproduced yet as far as I know. And to make matters worse at some point Ford used a different **** from earlier cars as the replacement **** for our trucks. Upper **** on blue arm is original. Lower **** is the NOS replacement for it according to the 1975 MPC.
You can find the same replacement **** at Dennis Carpenter's and they list it as for 1961-1966 F-series. Might be correct for the 3 on-the-tree manual trans, but not the automatics. But the replacement does fit and function fine.
Well,I did not buy the truck.Appeared to be a real solid truck, drove good, trans shifted good.I do believe it is actually a 98,000 mile truck.I think maybe for some reason the engine had been changed, did not like the color and did not want to pay $13,500 for it.Probably a darn good buy,but I passed on it!I got trucks and did not really need another one!
Yep,front end was tight and trans shifted very good.I have no photos of engine.I noticed engine had a fan clutch and the pulleys had an extra place for another belt for something???I just figured engine had been changed. The transmission was leaking fluid out of rear and they had done replaced the seal and this did not fix it?Man would not take less than $13,500.Like I mentioned color was just not for me and did not really need another truck, but there was a lot of good qualities on this truck.
