OTA software on '22, when?
When should I get the OTA software upgrade to my sync 4 where I can use carplay on full screen and have some the of the controls on the screen. Is it just random or do I need to do anything? Figured I would had gotten it by now, I've had the truck over a year and a half now
Where did you hear there was such an update???
Yesterday I got a SYNC 4 update, but all it had was a deal that added alexa capability, nothing else was in the update.
You know that Super Duty's don't get all the features that F150's do on SYNC 4, so if that was what you were referring to on the full screen carplay deal, no go for the SD's.

I got mine in February. Have owned mine a year, 22 Lariat. Make sure your auto updates are on. There is a post on youtube about pushing the update on a f150 using some sequence. Not really sure if it works or not but there are some that say it does. Something about reporting a problem from the truck to push the update then hard restarting sync 4. Make sure it's not on wifi.

Mine was updated in April with this feature. When you park your truck, is it connected to wifi in your house, or wherever you park it? As mentioned above, automatic updates has to be turned and your truck connected to a wifi source for this to work.

In February, my truck received on OTA update to Ford Power-Up 3.5.2 and this shows in the Pass app on my phone. In the description, it says another update "will arrive soon to complete the process". That was 5 months ago and nothing since. I am connected to my home wifi when parked. I've tried multiple times to initiate the update myself from the sync screen, but it just says no updates available at this time.
Try disconnecting from wifi. For some reason mine updates over cell service. I can always tell when I have to reconnect my phone because android auto won't connect. Would be nice if the truck works notify you of the update but it doesn't. I also lost my heater when I got the big update driving in the mountains in the winter. Was thrilled that I was going to have to go the dealer but after the update it worked fine. Not sure if it was just a glitch in the matrix or not. Update was 2 parts about 2 weeks apart.
Here's the process from the video referenced above: (Note: the video says you must do these steps in order and exactly. Nobody has an explanation as to why this works or doesn't).
With the truck on (or accessory power on), hold the radio power button and forward seek button for 5 seconds to reboot. Wait for the reboot to complete and repeat.
After fully booted, connect to WiFi.
Under settings>General>send feed back select wireless update not working. Repeat.
Go to System Updates, make sure auto updates are on, set update time 2-3 hours ahead of the current time. Check update details.
Turn Wifi off
Set the parking brake
Turn off truck
Lock and wait.
If no updates in 36 hours, repeat.

Picked up my 2022 F350 in Aug. of 2021. It has never updated for the infotainment system (sync 4). I have check/tried and rechecked/retried multiple occasions over the last year at least. I know I am missing at least 2 big updates (full screen would be nice to use with Android Auto). Getting an oil change done in the next 3 weeks and will tell the dealer to update and figure out why its not updating on its own.

I've been awaiting this update for a long while. The other day I noticed two small arrows in the upper left of the screen. They point away from each other diagonally, in typical "expand screen" fashion. I touched the button and it expanded Apple Car Play to full screen. I was expecting something different, so these little arrows may have been there for months! I really was looking for something more obvious, so check for this little change. Have a great weekend everybody!
Made an appt. to get my oil change done and to see why it's not being getting over the air updates. Told them my sync 4 is at least 2 big updates behind (never updated at all that I have seen since new - Aug 2021). They changed my oil and said they hooked up the computer and found no updates for my truck. I told them they were wrong and it is not updating. Lady at the counter couldn't seem to care less (which is the same attitude I got previously) and said I needed to make an appt which is what I was literally standing there for making my appt the previous weeks.
Bought a programming interface and when that arrived I downloaded FDRS and paid for a 2 day license. Had about 7 modules to update (PCM, BCM, DDM, PDM, etc...). Got all of them updated except the GWM and from what I read that needs updated before the APIM (sync4) updates will show. GWM will not update for some reason and tried it all day long. It's the only one that has to update via USB and I get the prompt that it is updating and then to restart the truck then sometimes it will just say "restart required" over and over every time I start the truck back up or it won't say anything at all and when FDRS checks it says the update failed. . There is a failure option to try and update via the Diag port and it errors out trying it that way also.
Irritating to say the least...
