When I was polishing my cab roof I noticed this plug that covers a hole straight in the center. I am interested if this is part of a factory package or if someone had just decided the wanted to make a hole in the roof. If this came from the factory, what package did it come on? if it is not from the factory. What would someone cut a hole in the roof for?
If you want to eliminate the hole, I used JB Weld to fix the holes in my roof from sun visor I removed. Little touch up paint and barely noticeable. Been fine for 7 years.
CB/Ham antenna or something for an old alarm I bet. My '88 has same stupidity.

Yes. Any of the above.

What “evidence of a CB” would there be after it was removed? I screwed mine to the front of the console but replace the console and you wouldn’t know one was ever there. The light bar could have clamped to the drip rails.

That actually makes sense as there are ways around drilling holes. If there was a cb, somebody could have stuck it to my ashtray. You can tell there is a color difference in the center where there is a lighter red color spot.
My truck has the same type of plug. It was bought by a construcction outfit and they had the moble phones at that time. I can't see the roof top and the plug fits tight. Larry
