I have not been on here much simply because my truck has been running great. I realize that nobody will miss me (I'm selling my F150 and have bought a different brand truck), but I did want to leave a comment about this forum.
There is a larger Ford truck forum, but this is the one I always came to and tried to contribute to. The reason is simply that this was always my favorite. The members are great and super helpful. Also, the mods were always awesome about keeping drama away, helping members find solutions, and keeping a mature environment. If my next truck is a Ford, I'll definitely be back. I just wanted to leave some good vibes and props to the peeps here. Keep up the good work!
Edit: I'm selling my truck to a friend, so I'll point him this way for the best Ford truck forum to join.
Oh, now that's a dilemma. You like to help your friend out, but helping him is going to limit your price. Kind of when we sold our old truck to a brother-in-law. We took the high road, and sold it for a $1. Not a good price, but the value in family points was priceless.
Appreciate your kind words. Gotta say, there is a lot more traffic on the other site, a bit more drama/immaturity/boys club stuff as well, but not worse than most other forums. I'm not a member there, but I lurk sometimes. A few times I've found myself wanting to comment, only to realize that I'm not registered there. Admittedly, this is a slowish board, our 2015-2020 forum. I guess that is a testament to a well built truck, as it's almost always issues that bring people here. This has never been a build and brag forum, though I wouldn't mind seeing some of that.
Tell us what the new truck is. I have to admit, If I needed a new truck today, there isn't much out there that excites me. Ford QC has really fallen in the last few years, prices are still sky high and availability is not that great. So, sadly, I don't think I would buy a Ford if I needed a new truck today.

Here, here, I couldn't have said it any more politely.
It's official, the F150 is gone. Well, not gone...it has been re-ownered. LoL.
Funny enough, he drove it over today to pick up my son since our kids are also friends. I've done so many little mods to the truck that I don't think I even told him about all of them yet.
I did look at a comparable Ford, but the price was significantly more than my 2017. In the end, I got a Silverado RST Z71 with the baby Duramax. If Ford hadn't killed their 3L diesel I probably would have gotten one. So far, the Chevy is nice but it has some rattles (not the diesel engine) that shouldn't have made it out of the factory. I do expect a trip to the dealer will fix them.
Hopefully my buddy will join here. He has a newer Expedition and a 1966-ish mustang. He had an older F150 that I think he just got rid of or will soon be getting rid of now that he has the 2017.
You guys will get a kick out of this. Our boys are good friends and both are 12. I picked them up from practice in my new Silverado. On the way to drop off the friend, I asked how he liked my new truck. His response..."I think I like your old truck better. I’m more of a Ford guy". How cool is that?

I have no say on the price. I drive a company vehicle. Every 5.5 - 6 years I get a call telling me to go pick something new. It has to be a domestic brand, have 4 doors, and at least be somewhat close to the budget they suggest. We take the old vehicle to CarMax to see what they will give for it. I can buy it for that or someone else can buy it for that. My friemd had mentioned wanting a truck so I told him the CarMax price and he said he'd buy it. I don't gain or lose anything. He did get a good deal on the truck. It also worked out for me because I had wired in a dashcam and had a Baja Designs light bar on it (tied to the high beam circuit so it came on automatically). I was going to take those off and out them on my new truck. Instead, he ordered new ones for me today on Amazon...so it saved me the labor of uninstalling them.
