My truck is without a doubt low in freon. Not cooling well at all, suction line not sweating at the evaporator. I searched everywhere for a sight glass. No luck. Am I missing it or does my model not have one??? BTW I assume it takes R12.

These take R134A, not R12. R12 on Ford vehicles was discontinued after the 1991 model year.
DuPont had a patent on R12 that expired and used monetary "pull" on bureaucrats and the EPA to claim it was bad for the environment just so nobody else could use it.
