Electrical gremlins?
Symptoms: Theft light flashing fast/irregular. Anti-theft must kick in because it won't start. Wait a while or catch it just right and everything goes back to normal and able to start. No big deal until today. Same occurence only the 4 wheel drive started kicking in and out on it's own when I got to the parking lot at work. Could hear a relay chattering. When I went to leave, I was mildly surprised that the airbag, odometer, and battery idiot lights were on without the key in the ignition! Somehow there was power to the dash. Went to start, no go. After several attempts and a jump start, it fired. Limped home and screwed around in the parking lot in 4 wheel drive which kicked in and out of 4 wheel with the switch in 4 high or 4 low.
I figure I have a short/s somewhere. Anybody else have this problem? I'm going to start with replacing the battery and cables and move on to the wiring harness.
