I am looking for options and opinions from those who have experience replacing their front leaf packs. I have a 1996 F350 CC/LB with a front GAWR of 4600lbs with a RSK installed. I am looking to replace my front leaf packs as they are original, loose, and have negative arch. i would love to soften the ride but i need to keep my weight rating as i do tow heavy. I do not want any more lift than i have to, i know just replacing will lift the front some but i just got the rear suspension setup perfectly and dont really want to change it.
The options i know of are
* get a pair of OE leaf packs from Ford or another vendor
* aftermarket leaf packs from Skyjacker, BDS, Rough Country, etc.
* custom spring manufacturers like Deaver
any other options i may have missed or any suggestions are welcomed! thank you
Personally I'd look local for a big truck or trailer vendor who might have experience in setting up or modifying vehicles like you describe. Its all well and good to look for something semi-exotic as a fix but nothing like spending locally and having that expertise in case a warranty issue arises.
On my 1999 I put a set of Deaver sprigs: X code. The guys at Deaver are top dudes. Not cheap but it’s been 10 years and those sprigs never sagged.
my buddy put my old V codes off my 99 on his 97 F250 and he said rhe ride was much improved.
Had a truck 2002 F350 crew 4x with a 6 inch Fabtec lift. Rode pretty tight. But it had dual Fox shocks with reservoirs. Out if all those I would go with Deavers or another stock set maybe a X code for some lift if it’s stock.
