Lets hope I dont have to eat my words. You should be more than happy with them. They have some pretty slick gaskets. They are aluminum, or something with replaceable rings around each port. They are graphite sleeves that "crush" when torqued down and eliminate any possibly leaking. If, for some reason, you ever have to remove the headers, you will only have to buy those sleeves.
you certainly are not eating your words they are great thanks for the advice , if anybody is eating words its me I should have just bought them first and saved the money I spent on the hedmans especially after I seen the bends for equal length on the bassanis " wow " NICE . no comparison , I guess lesson learned , thanks again .
yes I did not to mention the smoothness its a different truck now , I only have one problem , I hear a ticking on the left bank but I need to retorque again in a day or 2 after everything is eated to make certain I have no leaks , thats problem I dont belive I do so now I have to find the ticking under acceleration , but it runs smooth and idles good holds good pressures and temps , its just under accell. a mild tick , Im hard of hearing but the wife says it annoys her , so Ill have to find it , any Ideas
One thing to remember is that the material used in headers is thinner (steel versus cast iron), and is larger. I know that I have some valvetrain ticking on my bronco, and it was magnified slighty with the install of the headers. But like you said, wait until the retorque and see if thats it. Is it only under acceleration, or can you make the same noise while in park, but merely revving the engine? If so, you might want to get a length of tube and use it as a stethoscope. That way, you can accuratley depict where the sound is coming from, and hopefully have a quick diagnosis.
yes , I guess under acceleration and in park so the tube will help but I believe its as you said valve train noise , but Ill try to find out for sure and let you know what I know . even with the noise its still 200% better , its like new
