Hey guys! I was looking to get some insight on improving the ride quality on my truck. 2017 Expedition Limited (short wheel base) with about 172,000 miles on it. Naturally... the suspension is showing its wear and definitely feeling a lot more bumps and sway than I used to, but now to the point it's becoming a little annoying. Bearable, but I'd like to get it fixed at some point. Anyway, I was seeing if you guys had any recommendations on brands of shocks/structs to replace or if factory is the way to go?
Also if you're curious as far as the type of wear I put on the truck I tow a cargo trailer maybe 5-10 times out of the year hauling band equipment and my camper (about 6500 pounds when loaded) about 3-5 times out of the year to go camping.
I did Monroe for last replacement. They did take a while to settle. They were little firm. My personal opinion is oem is probably best for moderate use. Though I'm due again soon. Been eye balling the Rancho ready lift. Will probably go oem again.
OK, same knucklehead11... I had an old login I couldn't remember the details but finally did lol. And gotcha on the struts.
EDIT: Holy crap my old signature. My old Bronco II! I got rid of that Honda in, like, 2006. "Vato cruiser" no idea what i was thinking lol. I traded that Honda in on a Mustang... eventually a couple of Mazdas, then got back to the Ford trucks and got an F150, and now my Expedition lol. Not in Houston anymore either. I need to change that lol
During around town diving, they were just a bit more stiff, but in a good way I think. Wash board and forest roads are a bit better too. Sorry, I don't even remember the last time I used our Expedition for towing.
