Check these
Gear too tight
Caster insufficient
Ball joints or tie rod ends getting sticky and or freezing up
Front 4x4 axle u joints seizing up
Thanks, everything there has been checked, and re lubed and rechecked. The first shop that says it needs a steering box never Jack the wheels off the ground and turn them lock the lock through center. The second shop did this and agreed with me that it was fine, and no binding. Total toe is 0.12°, left caster 2.3° right caster 2.7°... so within spec, but from what I'm reading increasing caster to 5° with shims will solve a lot of problems. So maybe that's my next step along with springs.
Thanks again...as any & all input helps.
Well do increase the caster if you can
That will sure help
Your truck was not mentioned? but the caster spec. for most, is around 3 degrees
Up to 4 most likely okay
Too much and you will wear tires (feathering) and possibly build in a shimmy
