Need new engine

Anyone had to replace their engine that was out of warranty? I have a 2017 F350 with 154,000 miles on it and have a bad #3 cylinder. No luck getting a engine from Ford since they are backordered with no ETA. Anyone know of any reputable rebuilders?

You might try a local technical school. I know that they sometimes need engines for the students to work on.

I'm looking for a company that will warranty their work.

Google 6.7 remanufactured engines and start your search. Some will have places they work with that install.

I don't know these folks just the first that came up for Austin. 5years 160,000km warranty.

Yes, I did the same. There are serval that say they do a great job and only use new parts. I'm looking for first hand experience. If not I guess throw a rock and pray. 😁

If I wanted a remanufactured engine I would look here first. Several friends have put Jasper engines in different things. Only complaint was the price.

I can give first hand on a Jasper engine (inline 6) that went into my 88 F250 back in 92-93. The first reman engine lasted the trip home 50 miles, back to the shop and had a second engine shipped/ installed that lasted 100k miles when the truck was put out to pasture for a new truck.

I would look into low mileage used engines from auto recyclers also. Injectors, pumps, turbo, etc will be included & all items that will need to be addressed during a rebuild. Do you know why #3 cylinder failed?

I'm still waiting to hear back from the dealership on what they think caused the failure. So far they are telling me it is a weak cylinder. I took it in because of a loud knocking coming from the passenger side of the motor. My hesitation with using a used motor is I haven't found one that comes with a warranty as good as the remanufactured ones.

I wouldn't put a Jasper into my lawnmower after the experiences I've had/seen. They are a recognizable name and that's about it anymore, their warranty on diesels are 12 months/12k miles and if you're even barely outside of either one they won't even work with you.

I would look up US Engine Production. https://usengineproduction.com

Only a one year warranty, BUT unlimited miles. I can vouch for their stuff - my FIL got a 6.4 from them and the only 'upgrade' he added was head studs, because they'd already done most of the rest with the internals.
