ford van leaf springs
I have a 1991 ford e-150 van V-8 5.8 liter (4x4 conversion). I am about to leave on a trip to south america. I am having problems with the weight load I am carrying. The back leaf springs seem to be stressed. I also have overleaf springs. I fugured that I am carrying about 1200 to 1300 pounds in gearincluding the fabricated bumper that I have added. Any suggestions on how to combat the weight (other than getting rid of it). Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Overload shocks for a start. I have a 1992 E150 351, and it sits 12 inches from the tire to the bottom of the wheel well opening empty. So it may have some mods, but I have never had a problem hauling over 1000 pounds in the rear of it,
