FORScan adapter help

I've used FORScan many times in the past on Super Duty trucks. I'm now trying it on a 2001 Lincoln Town Car I just picked up. No luck so far.
FORScan is the latest version. The Bluetooth setting on the laptop shows the OBDLink MX as paired. FORScan settings have the OBDLink chosen as the device. Bluetooth is selected as the communication method.
I've deleted and added back the OBDLink and checked again that it's paired with the computer. FORScan still does not see a device.
Yes, I know that this isn't specifically about a Super Duty. But there are some FORScan gurus here that I'm hoping can help me out. Is there a setting somewhere that I haven't adjusted correctly? I'm a Mac guy and easily get lost in the Windows world but I thought I was checking the correct boxes to get this thing to function. The last time I used it was early 2022 after I got my F 350, which is why I made sure to update the version and renew the temporary license.
Should I just buy the OBDLink EX (USB model) and bypass the Bluetooth headache?

The MX works just as well as the EX. You may have a problem with the vehicle and/or OBD II port. Do the led lights on the MX illuminate? Do you see any attempt from the MX to communicate with the car (flashing lights etc)?

Thanks for the pointers. From what I recall the MX is working as I remember it. The power light is on and the Bluetooth light has a steady flash. When I push the button for pairing the blue light flashes rapidly until it pairs with the laptop.
Maybe I can plug one of my hardwired scan tools in or try the BlueDriver adapter and app to see if something is goofy with the port.

BlueDriver just ran a 100% scan with no issues. I guess the OBD port is OK.

Updated Windows this morning. Now the computer doesn't see or pair with the OBDLink MX at all. At least yesterday it would pair with the computer but FORScan couldn't find it. I've posted on ScanTools forum for these but I think I know what the answer is going to be.
This device was manufactured in July 2017. It's probably just plain outdated and unsupported now. So I went ahead and ordered a new EX USB model.
I had no luck getting the device and the laptop to get together on both my 2001 Lincoln Town Car and 2022 F 350.

I have two adapters. One blue-tooth the other is wired. I have never had trouble with the wired adapter but the blue tooth fails to connect on the first try, about 90% of the time

There is something else going on. Can your phone see the BX as an available Bluetooth device? There is probably a Bluetooth setting in windows that is wrong. But having an EX is handy and I use both types and my BX is also 5+ years old.

The phone sees the MX in Bluetooth settings but a message pops up right away that it's not a supported device. iPhone 13.
As far as Windows goes I'm like a child. I've been a Mac guy since the beginning back in the 1990's.

I've gone into Bluetooth settings/Related settings/ and clicked Download over metered connections. Then I moved down to the next item and selected Advanced for Bluetooth devices discovery, which says "choose Advanced to see all types of devices".
Then went into More Bluetooth setting and selected Allow Bluetooth devices to find this PC.
Those got the computer to see the MX and let it connect if I pushed the button on the MX for the rapidly flashing BT light. But in less than 2 seconds the connection drops and does not reestablish.
