I've bought 2 Cardone computers from rock.

1 was loose in a big box (bigger than the ECU), no packing looked like crap inside & out. (I opened it) Ugly solder under the new the caps & traces, cheap lable. Worked fine.

1 was double boxed with foam, looked brand new, inside & out, solder was indistinguishable from factory, factory Ford lable. Worked fine.

Itz a crap shoot.

Well thanks for letting me know. If this resistor doesn’t work I’ll give it a shot. Thanks

Hey guys, the resistor did not work. Same exact result.

My plan is to order the computer off of rock auto. There is no description other than part #.

Are we sure that F4tf-aka is the proper one for a 1994 manual, with a 460?

i can’t be spending this money haphazardly

Does it make a difference that my truck is a 1994.5? I see often people refer as this. Just making sure.

Thanks,

Ok guys. I went ahead and ordered the computer. Happy to say the truck runs pretty good.

I still had a check engine light reading 3 codes, 172, 212, and 334.

But seemed to run pretty nice. The trans seems to be doing good too. Just makes a lot of noise. And it makes me sort of ride the clutch on up shifts. Not used to long throw clutch pedals but I’d imagine it’s sort of normal. Just seems like some of the videos I see online the truck runs a heck of a lot smoother than mine. And I’m not bad at shifting so that’s not the issue. But what can ya do.

thanks for the help guys.

That seems contradictory. It runs pretty good but it doesn’t run as smooth as trucks you see online. Does the engine run like it did before the trans swap?

172 KOER or stored; O2 sensor fault- lean

212 stored; loss of ignition diag monitor signal/ SPOUT circuit grounded

334 KOEO,KOER or stored; EGR closed valve voltage high

You didn’t say if you ran the engine running or engine off test. If they are all stored codes then you should clear them, drive the truck for a while then run the KOEO test again to see if any of them return. If the EGR is an active code and the valve is partially open that will definitely cause driveability problems.

It was a koeo test. Read 111 for stored codes, no code. And the codes came from that drive. I’ve been driving it more, and it seems to run great. Just seems a little stiff with the clutch and shifting. But, it s brand new clutch and pressure plate. Plus I’ve never drove a stick truck before either so maybe it’s normal. But letting the clutch out it seems like it really wants to ride the clutch and I hear some gear rollover and then she accelerates perfect. So maybe I’ve just driven too many stick cars and I don’t know what I’m talking about. But as far as the codes I’ve read I’m hoping to Fix that asap.
