Gas mileage is an important indicator of engine, drive train and driver performance. No matter what it is, if it is consistent under similar conditions, you have a baseline of data to compare in the event something starts to wrong. When gas mileage drops and you don't have good reason it's time to start wondering why and find the problem while it's small. It always saves money to fix small things before they get big.

I just made a holiday run of 800 miles, avg was 17.6 w/52K, 4.6, 4x2.
