I have a '53 F-100 with a 239 flathead and a Holley 94 carb. The throttle linkage on the base has a three hole location to attach the accelerator pump linkage to (see picture)
. I assume these attachment points give different stroke length to the accelerator pump when activated. What is the most common location used by others? Can I get more fuel out of my accelerator pump by using hole #3 rather than #1 or #2? TIA
In the summer, #1 should be good, but if it stumbles then go to #2.
If you drive in the dead of winter, try #2 and if it stumbles go to #3.
MOST IMPORTANT -- make sure the link rod has a clip on the back side. Without that clip, the linkage can fall out and jam the throttle wide open! Don't tweak the rod to change holes, loosen the upper bowl screws so you can move it over enough to change holes.
