I don't know why whenever I want to get something for the interior of my 84 Ford I can never find it. It is so called "obsolite" as the dealer calles it. I am now looking for seat belt supports for the latch side of the seat belt. I have captain chairs and a center console. The seat belt falls down between the seat and the console because the vynyl support the it goes through has broke. Does anyone know where I can purchase these items and any other interior parts for that matter without getting the " that part is obsolite" from the dealer? Fustrated!!
I just thumbed thru my *** Truck catalog an they do not have them...I thought that if anyone had them it would be them... I know that JC Whitney does not have anything like this in their catalog either....
Unless someone else knows of any other "oddball parts" catalogs I would suggest hitting the boneyard... but a part like the seatbelt support most likley would not survive 20+ years....
80-96 have almost the same cab with very minor changes like visor holders and i guess holes to run door wires and seatlbelts. 80-86 had the returning system on top while 87-96 had them in the bottom but maybe a conversion to 87-96 seatbelt system would be better and im not sure but i think the plastic molding on the back interior of the cab might fit on 80-86
They sure do have a million of Ford Parts..I had some of that cheezy Roadkill Helper...but I ate it, its under the interesting section area on the front page. I might try to call them too about some Ford parts. Thanks Bark_Brooks.
I looked at greensalescompany and looks promising but I don't have a part number for this item. The only thing the dealer could come up with is a number for the whole seat belt system in beige, not blue. Thanks for all the info you guys have. Junk yard might be an option. But like uglytruck said, "problably would not survive 20 years.
Another good source is http://www.dennis-carpenter.com/ I didn't check to see if the seatbelt parts are available, but I have been able to find parts that others have said are obsolete.
