At the 1:00 position: Label G - fixed ground #57 on page 87 of the wiring diagram, via the flex printed circuit board on the gauge cluster.
At the 5:00 position: Label B - battery power #640 on page 98. The stamped AA appears to be the part number suffix, not a terminal label.
At the 7:00 position: Label 8 (stamped) - 8 cyl reference #60 pages 98 and 27. Note how this stamp looks like a B.
At the 11:00 position: Label C (stamped) - Coil signal #11 pages 98 and 27.
Yes, that is exactly what mine looks like. I guess I was confused as I didn't see the B stamped into the plastic. I'm a little colorblind and the black 8 looked like a B to me. Thank you for making that much clearer to me.
So a bit of an update. I think I have it figured out. The needle was resting below the 0 when not running. So I disassembled the cluster and adjusted the needle so it is on the zero (or close enough for government work). I then reassembled the cluster (and replaced all the bulbs and sockets) and tested the ground connection on the printed circuit to the socket. It tested good so I put it back in the truck. I then tested the ground at the socket and that was good as well. I started the truck and it seems like the tach is now reading correctly (if 100 RPM low but whaddya gonna do?) so i think I'm good to go on that front.
