I am looking at a 64 f100 that has no powertrain and front suspension is worn out and I have a1990 Grand Marquis with good powertrain and front suspension. I have been trying to search for anyone who has done a complete front frame clip swap but nothing but the 2003 and up crossmember comes up. So wondering if anyone can direct me to an old thread where someone has detailed this procedure. Thanks
Pre- 2003 CV's & Marquis were a welded crossmember, so a lot more work than the 2003 and up bolt-in style.
Have you ever looked at the front suspension in a '79 thru '87 Series III Jag XJ6 ? (or XJ12, but the springs will be too heavy)
It's pretty stout, with forged control arms & decent sized disc brakes, the only bad news is, wheels are 5x 4.75" BC
Here's a write-up done by a member of FTE, Slick60s and the H.A.M.B. on how to swap in the Jag IFS
Thanks James I have read that post and most of the ones regarding the newer CV crossmember The thing is I have this complete car with everything I need now I just need to find the right truck
