Headers for 1989 302

Hello everyone I'm looking for some shorty headers for my 302 5 speed 4x4.

I really only come across 1 kind really and that's bbk 3510 shorties. I've read some bad reviews about not lining up with y pipe and bolts being to short etc. Have any of you ran them?, Does any1 know some good headers that will be a direct fit? Thx.

Maybe look at JBA shorty headers.

Is your 302 otherwise stock? There is little to be gained from headers if you top out a 4,000 RPM unless there are some other mods.

My 95 has bbk, and a noticeable difference was felt, after installing, I left everything loose, and starting tightening, up slowly and everything lined up and no leaks, 4yrs

I tried those BBK headers many years ago and they don't match up to the factory Y pipe.

If this engine is higher miles and stock with no mods, I'd just leave the manifolds.

When I order headers for my next motor build they will be JBA.

Fox body Stang 5.0 shorty ones fit these trucks under hood, make a new Y pipe as stock is pathetic anyway. Piles of them available used for chump money if on budget.

Agreed on camming it. The flat tappet one is comically small. I think I read around 177/183 duration, 0.375" lift. 110LSA area. Being an 89 you should also have a roller block, my 05/88 did and pal's 12/88 did. HO cam is not huge, but another super budget camshaft that will wake the truck up.
