Know I may sound dumb but what exactly does knocking or pinging sound like? I have a noise that sounds like a peice of metal just hitting against the engine, not a constant thing just every once in a while.
Help me out here. The signature says no exhaust, just pipes. Aren't pipes part of the exhaust system? I'd still take a look and see if they're hitting something or loose in the manifold (or head, whatever).
Exaust is fine, nothing hitting but the ac compresser might be it. at an idle and sometimes driving it just kicks in, even when the heat is on. So I think the clutch is out. Anybody know how to replace one?
did you check to see if it is the connector to the ac compressor? I know mine had broken under previous ownership, not sure how it snapped clean off. I was barely connected causing sporadic operation. If the compressor is coming on when not intended to be coming on, it is more likely electical, ie swith, connector wiring. Have you looked at the fan clutch? I have had that problem before also, and made a similiar noise.
No man, i was serious, I was seriously wondering what you meant.
Im here to learn, honestly im on 19 and just now truly getting into this stuff. And I assume most of you, by the way it sounds have a lot of experance under your belt.
