While you're searching, you can look for old farm trucks in your area. The 254 was found exclusively in F6 trucks from 1950-52, and '53 F600's. It might be easier to find an old truck in a farmer's field than someone with a 254 in their garage laying around. I've parted out a few of them in the past, but all my 254 stuff is long gone. The 50-52's with the 254 also came with the elusive syncro-silent transmission, worth a couple of coin to the guys looking for them.
Looking for a 1948-1953 inline 6 cylinder flathead 254 for sale any help would be appreciated.
Hi, I was looking for info about this engine we have for sale and came upon your post. Are you still looking for one? Photos of it are below:
From what I've researched from the stamps I found on the engine (below), I believe it's the model you're after.
I've got video of it running, but it doesn't look like I can post it here. Let me know if you're still in the market (or anyone else, for that matter!) Thanks!
That does appear to be the 254 big 6 with the 8MTH identifiers, however the transmission is the non-synchro crash box, not the T98 Synchro-Silent that typically comes with it.
Best of luck in your search. There's also this group.

I've seen parts for sale and requests for all models F1-8. Watch out for the scammers! There are plenty of those. No Venmo and no PayPal 'friends and family'!
