I just bought my excursion 3 days ago for my new family I drove it to the car wash and sprayed degreaser in the engine bay and quickly washed it out. No it won't crank. All the window, radio, lights and everything else works. I replaced the battery, terminal connectors, starter and fuses in the cab.
Sorry you are having the problem with it so new to you.
Can you help us by clarifying a few things?
1) What year and model Excursion
2) What engine (V8, V10 Diesel or gas?)
3) Won't crank....meaning you turn the key to "Start" and then what? Describe any clicks, lights dim, etc. that does happen.
4) Are you stuck at the car wash with it not starting or did it drive home just fine and not start later that day or the next day?
We will try to help, just need more info to help.

Yes sorry it's a 2001 gas v10 and I was stuck at the car wash for about 10 hours yesterday till I had a friend get off work and flat tow me home. All the electronics work to my knowledge when the key is in the on position but when I turn the key to run position the engine won't turn over. I do hear one single click down by the parking brake when I turn the key.
I would start with the starter and work from there. First see if you can jump the starter and see if it turns, check the wires that are attached to the starter, look for corrosion if their good and the starter turns when jumping then the next thing to check is the starter solenoid, it might have had some water intrusion when you sprayed the engine and caused it to malfunction. It is located on the passenger side fender near the battery , they run about 30 bucks for a Motorcraft at Rockauto. Also see if you knocked off any wires with your pressure washing. Good luck it’s a matter of working your way thru one component at a time
Thank you I will check it all out, since the incident I have replaced the starter for a complete new one as well as the battery and the terminal connectors

Sorry you got stuck and had to be towed. That is never fun, especially with a new-to-you vehicle.
Did the replacement starter, battery and terminal connectors resolve your problem?
Is the starter turning the engine over when you turn the key? If not and you know the starter is good. ( was it bench tested when you purchased it ) then move on to the solenoid. Did you changed the wire from the battery to the starter?
So update guys when I touch the two nodes together with a screwdriver ( on the starter relay by the battery) it started up no problem but the key won't start the truck.
It won't start in neutral and all the wires look good but I'm not getting any juice from the wire the leads to the ignition (on the solenoid) but when I test the wire that comes from the ignition under the steering wheel it has power.
Have you changed the solenoid? It might be malfunctioning, a new Motorcraft is 30 bucks at rockauto or you could pick up one at your local parts store It would eliminate that part
You probably fried the solenoid if you got all the contacs wet when you did the engine wash, it probably arched when you turned the switch to engage the starter, just as long as you have voltage going to the solenoid on the ignition wire you are good, if that solenoid isn't clicking then it's fubared, it's pretty much a huge relay has the power side which is the input power, and the control side, which then sends the power down to the starter to engage it.your probably missing the control side of the solenoid, it's getting the input power but the control side isn't doing anything. All vehicles with external starter solenoids they eventually go bad. You could also jump the solenoid to engage the starter you just need the ignition switch to be in the run position to see if the solenoid is functioning properly or not you may even temporarily fix the solenoid this way as well, better off buying a new one though.

@blake.kent What was your resolution? I have the same problem with my ‘99 F350 V10/5 speed. I replaced the starter and solenoid but still just one click and no crank. Thanks.
