Would anyone have a pic of the correct routing for the trans cooler lines? Mine are a mess. I tried to find some pre-bent ones without luck, So I might just try and make my own.
If you are going to use a radiator trans cooler you will have to use a set of lines from a newer truck. 61-66 trucks didn't use a radiator cooler. If you use any rubber hose, be sure it is for transmission fluid because the liner in regular fuel hose will not stand up to type F fluid. 1967-70 Ford Truck F100 F150 F250 2WD 5/16" Trans Cooler Lines 2pc OE – Inline Tube

So looking at these the obvious question would be what trans they can hook up to. You have a non-original C6 in your 65 and I have the original C-O-M in my 65 and the add says 67-70. In my 65 the radiator had a cooler and rubber lines were used from trans to the radiator and I still do that today even though there is a separate oil cooler in front.

The original radiators in our trucks did not have a cooler in them. The difference in the dimensions where the cooler lines attach to the transmission whether it be a COM, C4 or C6 are minimal so the same lines will work on any of them. Providing whatever radiator, you have has 5/16 inverted flare fittings.
If you want to know how they were routed and attached, you will need to find a 68-72 truck to look at.
The cooler lines must be connected because the front line on the trans is from the converter relief valve and the rear line is lubrication for the output shaft bushings. That is the only forced lubrication those bushing get on any of the auto transmissions.
