So I only get one vote but I’ve owned two 6.7s (a 2017 with 54k and a 2022 with 10k) and neither have had CP4 issues.
This is a similar situation I have with two Super Duty trucks that I have experienced. Someone on this site the other day, referred to this CP4 issue to be around 1% of trucks. So far this poll appears to be near that result. Thanks for putting this together, it is very interesting to see these numbers. I also fuel at Open Road truck stops and hope to stay in the 99% of trouble free trucks.
Is it fixed already? or are you still waiting? How long has it been?
I'm in the same boat except I don't know for sure if Ford is going to take care of it. Just trying to see what I can expect.
That was back in 2015. I had hauled it back to the dealer I bought it from on my own dime after multiple lift pump failures in 20,000 miles. They told me it needed a complete fuel system replacement. They did a buy back and I drove away with a new 2016. I have no idea if all the issues ever got fixed or not, or if they just got it running and sold ot to some other sucker.
I voted but I could add another vote as I am on my second 6.7 with over 50k miles and no cp4 issues to date. Poll reflects what I would have guessed regarding failures.
Approx 4 mil on 32 6.7 currently. No CP4 related problems. Couple of them had gas thru them.
Also will find metal shavings in the housing from time to time.
If I include the other trucks that have been sold off/ crashed out or what not. 55 6.7s no CP4 problems either. No additives except anti-gel in the heart of the winter.
2011 6.7 in an F350 SRW company truck, 167,000 miles no CP4 issues. 2018 6.7 in an F350 SRW company truck, 19,000 miles when I retired and no CP4 issues. 2019 F350 SRW truck (personal) with 21,000 miles when I traded it in, no CP4 issues. Current truck 2022 F450 Pickup 6.7 14,500 miles no issues. Hope I didn't just jinx myself.
One thing about the CP4. They work just fine…………until one goes bad on YOU! Then see how much trust YOU have in one of them!
I don't disagree... but, it is very refreshing to see how many folks are not reporting issues, especially the ones reporting businesses with multiple 6.7's and absolutely no failures. And even more so here on this forum, because as has been mentioned, people don't usually come here to talk about how good things are going, but rather how bad they are going... so it seems like a concentrated few bad CP4's would be listed here. It's obviously not as many as some may think though...
I do think it's good that folks list their MY truck too, as some changes have been made over the years, namely them pinning the buckets in the 20+'s.
Two very close friends of mine have had no issue with CP4s. One has a 2015 with 315k and one has a 17 with 90k. Both used for daily driving. The 2015 tows a fully stocked enclosed landscape trailer weekly. The 2017 tows an SVL75, 12k mini and plows heavily. Neither run additives. Both CCSB SRW 350s.

you can apply this to literally everything in life.
Neighbor had one go out on a '17 tow truck and another buddy had one fail on a '15 with high miles. Know someone who had a Duramax with a CP4 that failed and he switched to a CP3. Have 100k+ on a 2016 with no issues, never use an additive and it has a Gen2 DPK.
Had a friend that had a filter installed after the CP4 while having other work done. A while later, the CP4 went out and luckily the filter caught the debris. After that, he replaced it with the CP3.
I don't think the issue is guaranteed by any means, but it does raise some concern to most owners with a CP4.

Are you talking about a DPK? And I didn’t think a CP3 would fit, at least in newer Super Duties. Was this in a different vehicle?
