Has anyone seen the increasing trend online lately of diesel vehicles catching on fire? Many are superdutys (new and old) but there are also several that are GM and Ram, as well as OTR trucks and farm tractors (new and old)
Lots of people are saying its due do improper installation of aftermarket equipment. Doubt it based on the fact its happening to several different ages and classes of vehicles.
Some people are saying its a govt conspiracy by adding the ammonium nitrate that came up missing from a train derailment a while back.
I will admit that SOME of the vehicles in the videos are not diesels and probably people wanting to be included in this "trend"
I saw a guy that did a video of going to 3 different stations in northern Illinois that got samples of diesel and they all looked different/ bad.
I will say I am the proud new owner of 2 A-B-C fire extinguishers that now live in my truck. If its not mine burning, maybe I'll be able to help someone else.
Has anyone seen anything like this where you live?

It is a smart man who prepares for emergencies, and misfortune. Fire extinguisher absolutely.
One word here... Clickbait! I'm sure a number of every vehicle has caught fire, but a few out of 100s of thousands on the road. One popular company takes a picture and makes an article and BAM they make it out that, every SD truck or Ram truck or every Jeep or every _________ vehicle catches fire. It worked for this specific thread right? Would love to see the statistics of number of X vehicles on the road and the number of Y fires, I'm sure the % is very very low.
To some extent, yes. It was helpful to see reports of the fires that were identified due to failed filters. It prompted many Super Duty owners to change their fuel filters ahead of schedule.

I'd say it prompted a very small percentage to do anything ahead of schedule, most articles were more of smear articles I'm sure. If its factual it's boring and you're not going to get as many clicks, more clicks = more money for the person/company who wrote the article. It's just like any article or news article, there's bias in everything. No such thing as non-bias news anymore unfortunately.
While I carry a small extinguisher, it’s more for others over me. If my truck goes up in flames, I’ll stay back and let it go. It would never be right if they tried to fix it so you might as well get a new truck and start over.

Never said there were, but your reading comprehension skills are acute.
You posted the link in a Super Duty forum, typically forums discuss the topic the the forum is for but kudos for you for citing where you found the data that isn't accurate for the discussion. Most spout out this and that without the citing to back it up, good work!
Thank you for the compliment about reading and comprehension skills.

Well, the title/subject was "Truck fires" but that couldn't have escaped such an esteemed collegiate intelectual such as yourself.
And while the Maverick is not much of a truck, I'm fairly sure that this Ford Truck(s) Forum does include it as such.
Guy on you tube five days ago saying something about conspiracy and the saying cheap LED lights shorting or bad install.
I keep watch for the demons that are out to destroy things like this guy.
I keep fire extinguisher in the truck and two in the camper. Larger ones not the small ones that come with the campers. They are secure, easy to get and some of the tools I have to keep bad things from escalating.
