I have a 1999 F-150 4x4 5.4L standard cab, short bed.
I currently have a "flow master cat back system" with "Gibson shorty headers".
My question is, why can't I take the flow master cat back off and install the gibson system made for the "lightning".
I want the exhaust to exit in front of the passager rear tire like the lightning that way I can free up the real estate in the rear. My plans are to fabricate for duel rear shocks.
i dont know why you woulndt beable to if it was me and it didnt fit i would fab it up to were it would fit a little welding and cutting never hurt anything

Thanks, that's what I had planned on. I was woundering about legal issues as far as the exhaust exit just beyond the door. Also, is it really loud? (I have a wife who will complain until I turn blue)
on the legal issues i guess it would matter were you were located here in missouri i believe the law is it has to exit something like 24-32 inchs from the cab so everyone here just runs duals and then dumps them off at the rear axle
