I pulled the motor at 367,000 and rebuilt it, increased the horsepower by roughly 200 hp. Bored the block .030 over, all new .030 over pistons, new stage 2 Colt cam, new hybrid injectors 180cc/80% nozzle. Rebuilt the heads with Comp Cam heavy springs, all new intake and exhaust valves, .060 clearance on the springs. Smith Brothers heavy pushrods. Hydra 6 position tuner.
South Bend 450 HP clutch
I still have a lot to do, ran out of money and had to get this thing back on the road. It now has 33,000 on the new rebuild and had power and then some. I am still replacing 24 year old components. I previously started to get a surge of about 1,000 rpm’s at idle and rough idle, slow & hard start. I replaced the fuel pump, under valve cover harnesses, main harness, ICP, IPR, CPS, EOT, EOP, IAT. Changed the oil, air filter, fuel filter.
Unfortunately, although it is running better, my problem persists.
I downloaded the Forscan program and noticed some strange numbers out of my ICP. It would only get up to about 1,300 psi (and I’m rounding up!) was really only 1,200 and some change. The IPR was at 22%. I’m now leaning to replacing the HPOP with the Adrenaline.
Looking forward to helping out when I can and getting help in return.
I need to find out about our Florida Chapter.
Thanks to all.
