Limp mode?

Limp mode?
2004 F250 6.0 l PowerStroke.
I changed the fan clutch to clear the P0480 code.
Fan speed is now greater than engine RPM during warm up.
I am happy with the change. On a short test drive truck lost power after a start with egine at temperature. It felt like Limp Mode for 1/4 mile then seemed alright.
There are no new codes...only P1000 since I had the battery disconnecected.
Any ideas?
I am (supposed to)leave on a 1800 mile trip towing my 8000 pound trailer tomorrow.
ADDITIONAL INFO
I had a BPD air cooled oil cooler and EGR cooller installed and a replaced EGR valve with only about 300 mile on it since. And no heavy loads.
