1994 F150 Fuse block removal

I just purchased a 1994 F150. On the #8 fuse, the block is burned, and the "output" wire has left the fuse block. I have taken the fuse block loose enough to find the wire, and it is in bad shape. I am new to these pickups, but not new to auto repair, especially electrically speaking. The #8 fuse is for the speedo, dome lights, radio memory, chime, etc. While I don't mind just running a new power wire for the radio, I would really like the Speedo working. Any suggestions for getting behind the fuse block to trace that wire and come up with a repair strategy? Also, the fuel guage and temp guage on the cluster do not work...could this be related to the speedo fuse being blown?

Thank you for that! Is there a source for wiring diagrams for these pickups online?

Thank you sir! Diagnosing the short is only going to be half the battle...repairing the burned wire/wiring will be phase 2...It looks like a pop top or tin foil job on the the fuse block

So after looking at some wiring diagrams, I would like to find Splice S214. I am trying to figure out how much of the wiring is damaged from the fuse block issue. For the time being, I may just run a new fused circuit from the battery to connect the radio/clock circuit and speedo module circuit to see if I can get those items functioning while I chase the rest of the wiring. It looks like also I can isolate the circuit at the headlight switch so I can have dome/courtesy lamp function through the headlight switch, just not the door switches.

The third post in this link might help. It's a different year though. https://www.fullsizebronco.com/threa...needed.507074/

So, I am not sure what is going on with the radio wiring...the fuse box cover says the radio clock/memory is on fuse 8. But with the toastiness on circuit 8 and no fuse, the radio clock/memory has power, and when you look at the schematic for the radio wiring, fuse 8 is nowhere in the diagram. So that is interesting. I pulled the instrument cluster, found the light green/yellow wire feeding battery power to the PSOM, cut it and spliced a fused battery feed to the PSOM, and now the speedo and odometer works! Not sure how long it has been non-functional, but it had 92k on it when it quit working. I also repaired some sketchy wires on the cigar lighter. The driver door courtesy light is also in need of wiring repair. The dome light is missing its light bulb. I am going to give the courtesy lighting circuits a thorough check and make repairs before I attempt powering that circuit! I don't know how to change thread titles, but I think I need to change the title to this thread to "Fun with Fuse 8"!
