intermittent acceleration issues in 2001 7.3 Excursion
Hey Guys!
Just found y'all and signed up right away !
I'm in need of some help with my Excursion . It started to run rough one day heading home from work terrible acceleration and real shaky. 1 mile from my normal shop it all cleared up!!! go figure right??.
Next day it started again as i was heading to work so dropped it off at the shop . they thought it was the Fuel Pressure sensor , picked up truck . ran great for a few miles then issue resumed . again clearing its self a little later on.
Now its in the shop and they cant pin point an issue . i have no warning dash lights or anything, Im hoping one of ya'll know how to clear this up! im stuck driving a 2007 suburban with no AC in Texas! HELLLLLLLLPPPP!!!!! im melting !
Truck has had some upgrades and work done to it , new injectors and injector cups - Cold air intake and a FASS system installed - it sitting on 18 on 35s and has F350 SD springs under it

There is no fuel pressure sensor. If they told you there is or that they change one they lied. Your symptoms do sound fuel related though. Plus since there is no fuel pressure sensor the PCM has no means of monitoring the fuel system. Which means if there is a problem you won't get any codes for it. I would likely start with getting some fuel pressure readings and inspecting that FASS setup.

I was going to say the same but wasn't sure if the fass pump had a pressure sensor of some sorts on it or not. I've never messed with one. But for sure there is for fuel pressure sensors anywhere on the truck factory's.
Small up date after changing out a few parts due to the issue they have a arrived at the PCM needing to be replaced.
i just want my damn truck back lol ! In Austin and i hate traffic unless I'm in my big loud safe zone! AKA my Excursion
Have you tried it with the ICP sensor unplugged? It will throw the check engine light constantly, but it will confirm a bad/counterfeit/aftermarket sensor and you can drive around that way as long as you please, although with less mpg and I wouldn't recommend towing heavy that way.
While you have it unplugged check the wiring, undo the loom and check the wires about 5"from plug. Sometimes for unseen reasons the wire insulation will be rubbed thru and shorting under the loom
The PCM is the last thing I would suspect in this scenario. Either they work or they don't. Not like this on/off toggling of symptoms you are having right now. Since you've mentioned new injectors and cups, were the wiring and V/C gaskets also replaced or just the old ones plugged back in?
I had my PCM tested a few weeks back it was tested and shipped it back with a PASS !! YAY!
The shop manager still thinks it is the PCM and I was wondering if maybe you would have any insight as yall deal with the PCM side of things daily.
I'm told With the IPR off the motor the trucks showing over 3k PSI with the Engine off they can unplug the IPR and everything goes back to normal they have replaced that IPR 3 times the last one was a direct one from Ford .
I was hoping that yall over there had some amazing insight that can get my truck back on the road ! .I'm getting desperate !
Any and all help would greatly be appreciated

Have you scanned for codes or anything? SES light coming on when it acts up?
