I remember a few years ago when Oldsmobile had the slogan
"this is not your fathers oldsmobile"
every time I heard that, I thought yeah, but if only it was

I wouldn't say that, I would love to be able to go out and buy a BIG CAR with a 460 V8 that would leave blocks of burnt rubber behind. My current dream car is a Crown Vic with a V10, a completely doable set up if Ford would just build it. The Marauder with a chipped 4.6 just didn't do it. No replacement for displacement especially when pushing around heavy iron.
the only thing about the v10, is that there are some major clearance issues with the frame, suspension, and firwall of the vic.
i would think the new 3 valve 5.4L would be nice.... or the all alum. dohc 4.6L from the mark 8 would rock

A little over 10 yrs. ago I was off for 3mos. with a knee infection. I saw a magazine "How to rebuild your first V8" Went to the auto wreckers, picked up an old 350 and away we went. About a month later and many $$$ was my 355 with worked heads, rv cam, flat top pistons, Edelbrock intake and carb sitting on an engine stand.

It wouldn't fit in my old Ford van and definitely not in Momma's front wheel drive. I figured and 80's Malibu wagon would make a nice little sleeper. I found a '79 Cutlass wagon, dropped in the engine, added a turbo 350 transmission with shift kit and stall converter. Then I threw on Dynomax headers and exhaust system.

After stripping all the chrome, woodgrain and roofracks, I painted it the Mustang chrome yellow.

It was definitely:
(N)ot
(Y)our
(M)ommas
(O)ldsmobile!
