Hi everyone , hope you are well,
1990 , f150 , manual box , 302 ..4wd lariat
So I was working on getting my clutch peddle to the right height..which is done.
but now I would like to replace the small black clutch peddle bushing
but everywhere you go …Napa …Amazon ..etc etc..
they say this part will not fit your 1990 f150.
for the record it’s a weekend warrior , boat puller and make do RV.
so once we get the right bushing it will last long enough.
I did get what I thought was the right one and it fitted perfectly, but then I realized it was missing the small teeth that go in the ring or groove around the clutch arm post ..so it slipped off.
I have put the old one back on ..it works well but is tired of being opted on and off a few times, but works perfectly
so I know the right part is out there ..
thanks in advance folks , Roy
That looks like the right one. I had issues when I tried to put a new one in my 90 F250. It started popping off soon after install. I ended up using a couple zip ties in a pinch one day, and I have yet to fix it properly. Lol
Ok so I went ahead and bought the bushing ..
Pryed the old one gently off and fitted the new one.
night and day...the new one ...you can just grab it and it slides off with the minimal click..
The old broken 3 legged one hangs in like its new.
and upon close inspection there is a diffetance.
especially on the inside ridge the locks in to the
Groove.
Waste of 15 bucks ..
Thanks …I’ll look into that.
for the record, what I did today ..was took the dremmel and made a tiny tiny flat sop in the groove ..the used that as a place to start a tiny drill bit and put a small cotter pin though and bent the legs around…it will be fine ..but it really could use the right bushing ..so thanks for that .
Yeah the ones that go around the metal rod going from the clutch peddle to the actual arm are correct ..this is just the one that goes ove the little **** that connects to the master cylinder arm …
sorry I sound like a loonie ..I dunno the names for all these bits …Roy
