Hello all . I was just wondering. Why do so any people put Ch*vy engines in fords? evry time I pick up a rod&Custom thats what I see 51 merc 350 ch*vy. old mustang 350 turbo ch*vy. WHY NOT A DAMN 351!! or a monster 460.. There should be a law I think. But that has buged me for a very long long time. Dose any know why they put ch*vys in Fords???

It's all about money. Shovey engines are readily available and cheap. The aftermarket parts are much cheaper for them than Fords. Check out the prices for engine parts like intakes, cams, lifters, etc. The Shovey parts are much cheaper.

You forget that you can get a gt40 crate engine for $3200 and you get 340hp that is very reliable and are you forgetting about the mustangs 5.0L? Seems to me that the parts for those engines are as cheap as a cheby 350.

One additional note: One other thing to remember is AMC/JEEP did not supply a majority of its parts for its own vehicles and used Chevy/Ford parts instead. Or used the Ford/Chevy owned suppliers too.
