Anyone had experience adding a 5-wheel backup camera that sits on the back of the cab and displays the bed of the truck to aid with 5-wheel hook up? My 2020 F350 XLT does not have one but it does have the 8in Sinc 3 system. I was wondering if I bought a aftermarket or even OEM camera to replace the cab back up light would the electrical fittings automatically pick up the camera (assuming it fits OEM specs) or will I still have to run the wires through the cab to the sinc 3 system? I guess I’m hoping the truck comes already wired so if you replace the light with a camera it will plug in to existing cabling and pop up on the factory sync 3 display. I’m not optimistic though. Any experience here would help. Thanks
You need the CHMSL camera and 3rd brake light. I dont know what is involved to make it work with sync but above your 8" screen is there a camera button? My 2022 XLT has the 360 camera kit but it was possible to order the truck with just the CHMSL camera also.

No, that's my concern. It does however, show my backup camera on the screen but my 2022 did have the camera button and you had the option to toggle it to the 3rd brake light. I was hoping perhaps that the only component mission was the camera since all the trucks start off the same but I'm not optimistic. I would rather the the 3rd break light camera function with the factory 8in screen than have to add another monitor in the vehicle. Thanks
