I’ve rebuilt the carb and the truck ran great. Then….I cleaned the fuel bowl and now it doesn’t seem like it’s pumping fuel.
I plan to run a temporary line straight to carb for test purposes. Does anyone know the threaded fitting size to the carb?
Im not at the truck now and it may not be available in my rural area so I’d like to buy it now.
Straight 6 stock carb.
back up one step an d check the o/p of the fuel pump and/or fuel filter between pump and carb... also the float might be hung in the shut off position

That’s why I want to run a temporary line . If the trucks running I’ll be able to see if there is output at the pump. Just cranking it there doesn’t seem to be much.

just cranking it will actuate the pump each time the cam rolls over... you should see a fairly healthy spurt with each stroke of the pump.. Granted it will seem more constant with engine at speed.. Just make sure your temp
tank is above the carb for gravity feed. Even before you start it...if the bowl fills from the temp can you should see fuel squirt into the carb when you move the throttle linkage... If that happens there is probably not a problem
with the carb... do you have a filter in line.... just be careful with fuel squirting around ...you don't need any fuel fires... they tend to make a mess of trouble shooting.
another thought... if you see a weak flow from the pump...check your lines for a leak... pump could be pulling air with the fuel and not delivering like it should... check your rubber lines (if any) for cracks and collapsed lines or restrictions (internal). Old rubber lines can
break down internally
I buy the hard fuel lines with the flares already made, and just cut off one side of the pipe, use the other to screw into carb. I believe fuel style flares are only single inverted flares, and brake lines typically use a dual inverted or bubble flare.
Thanks for the help.
Used the fitting to fill the carb, started right up. Removed the fuel bowl and installed a cork gasket, prefilled the bowl with a funnel.
Runs great. The fuel pump leaks a little so rebuilding that is next. I just like to take one step at a time so I know what I did or didn’t screw up. Got to take a little drive getting in just before a heavy downpour. We all know how well those vacuum wipers work.
