Hey everyone, long story short:
I bought the truck at around 248k miles. Everything about it seemed fine, and the previous owner didn’t mention a history of anything wrong (of course). After driving it for about 500 miles, the truck sounded like it was running rough, especially in OD (5 speed manual).
First, I noticed the fuel pressure gauge went from 65psi normally, to 0 and never read anything higher. I planned to change the gauges that weekend anyways so I ignored it.
the new gauge still read 0, but the truck turned over and ran just fine. After driving on the freeway, the truck died.
I found the electronic fuel pump had a bad wire connection. I fixed that and the truck started, but still idled rough and fuel pressure still read 0.
I just replaced the MAP, IPR, ICP, and CPS sensors today. The truck turned over just fine, but idled rough and the fuel pressure gauge is still reading 0.
I have adjusted the Allan on the fuel return regulator and no change.
we are planning on towing a Uhaul from cali to Wisconsin in 5 weeks and I really don’t want to get in to the injectors if I don’t absolutely have to?
I would figure out the 0psi fuel pressure before I started tearing into injectors. I'm not saying at 248K miles that you dont need injectors but they definitely need more than zero fuel. What kind of efuel is on your truck? Have you verified that the pump is actually running and moving fuel? I also hope you used Motorcraft parts when changing your sensors.
Yes, I did use ford sensors. I’m not sure what brand of fuel it was installed as the previous owner in stalled it and there is not a visible brand or logo…. That was a concern of mine though. I am going to look closer at the wiring harness after work so I will check to make sure the pump is actually pumping as well.
Have you changed the fuel filters? I say filters as it sounds as if the truck was converted to an electric fuel delivery system. This would have been the first thing I would have changed if I was getting a zero fuel pressure reading.
My wife was poking around asking questions about the fuel system and found a broken wire that happened to be the ground for the fuel pump. Crimped on a new terminal and she is good as new now and running great

Glad your wife is doing good now. Everyone is going to crimp their pump terminals because of you.
