My local Advance Auto carries Rotella but haven't seen the new T6 10w30 yet... I haven't checked NAPA yet though. I'm actually stocked up pretty good on oil so I forgot Shell was coming out with this stuff.
I'm stocked up for the next 6 oil changes... so not like I'd be buying it anytime soon... if it ain't out by then, then maybe it never will be. We are living in some strange times so who knows what's going on...
Not to switch brands, but if you're in a bind maybe see if Delvac Extreme 10W-30 is available somewhere, it is a full synthetic with a very stout add pack (over 1200ppm Ph & Zinc). Walmarts by me carry the 15W-40 Delvac Extreme at good prices.
Even if they did make it and I could find it, what’s the point? Just use 5W-40 and be done with it, it covers a broader temp range and all the ‘extreme use’ conditions.

^ Rotella T5 or Delvac blend are good 10w30 options as well. I think jegs or summit has Delvac 10w30 for a pretty good price.

Outside of some slightly better shear stability however in a non-HEUI application as you said not going to matter much.

I see your point but many big trucks, although they have more oil than our 6.7s, way more oil, that run 10w30 oil. I'm no expert on oil viscosity but just commenting on what I've read when looking into it.

+1 the 5W40 flows better in the cold of winter and can handle the heat in the summer when there is a load behind the 6.7. We all know the oil temp in the 6.7 climbs up there quite a bit when towing.

At this point, I think 10w30 is doing to 15w40 what 15w40 did to 30wt oil and becoming the industry standards in many instances. IIRC the 6.7 Cummins (along with larger engines) also spec's a 10w30 now, I would assume due to the fuel economy/cold start benefit, I can't comment on the Duramax.
Another thing to consider is FA-4 oils, offered in concurrency to CK-4, are dominated by Xw30 oils due to the lower HTHS thresholds. FA-4 is not compatible with CK-4 and can't be used interchangeably.
That said I am a heretic running a 15w40 in my truck cause I did not plan out my oil change properly last time.
