Looking at buying 86 f250 4x4 4wd, 4 speed 460. Not familiar with the bullnose era trucks. Truck is not running at this time. Has been messed with, but everything looks original and wiring not hacked. owner says flywheel has bad spots but he bought it not running. First off, what is best way to tackle fuel delivery? Can the original tank pump be replaced with a mechanical pump and carb? Where is the pressure regulator? I was planning on buying this truck for the 460 and flatbed for my 79 f250 4x4, but this truck is solid with a flat bed with hay spike lift, trailer brakes, factory ac intact and several other things that make it more feasible to tackle it for a build. What are some of the weak/trouble spots on such truck? Thanks for input.
Thanks. Kind of a pig in a poke right now. Owner has not heard it run, he says spark/compression/fuel there, not sure how that goes with not able to turn much. I have seen a new starter, relay is on it. I think he is pretty straight up and the price is right. I have worked on a lot of stuff just not familiar with this setup.

The FW maybe in the spot with the missing teeth, so the starter won't engage...? Can you spin the crank by hand a little and try to start it ?
The electric pump system is called by Ford "Hot fuel handling" option. I would try to keep it intact since the fuel nowdays is very prone to vapor lock. If it's true you have fuel, you can look elsewhere for the problem.
Thanks. Would like to keep it if i can, have learned a lot in the last few hours on this site. Thats why i have always come here. You guys give me the confidence i might try this.
