Off topic: I bought a '72 chevy truck with those exact same pathetic mirrors. Ruins the look, not sure what they're from. Luckily I found a set of correct ones for a later date.
Looking back, I would have gladly paid a ton more than I did for our 66 if it had less rust. That truck that you’re looking at right now, after the experiences I’ve had in dealing with rust and previous owners lies, I’d pay 10k for that truck.

20839554[/url]]IMO, I would not quibble on a "zero rust" vehicle. Your always time and money ahead in a straight original paint rust free truck, especially if your not into doing your own bodywork. Rust is very common in these year trucks, especially in the floor board, cab mounts, rain gutter, edge of hoods, bottom of tailgate and of course inside of bed. These rust repairs are easily over $7500 in a body shop.
Fortunately, the only body damage is rear drivers side bed corner. It actually looks worse in pictures than in person Ehh…gives the truck character.
Go get it so you can get busy enjoying it! Here's motivation.. this is Shrek, with all his dings and dangs, patina and character, was pulled behind a road grader in SD when the guys granpa was building roads there, was just about as plane jane as you could get, radio delete, no cig lighter, only a mirror on dr side, 240 I6 with 4 speed.

Did you use Eastwood patina preserver. Looks great!
A publicity shot in Acadian Blue deluxe tu tone. The 8' styleside Custom Cab was always Ford's flagship for the pickup line up in the era. Not too many things were altered, the color of the wheels, hubcaps and mirrors are easy changes. The oxidized grill can be replaced, luckily a reproduction '66 anodized aluminum grill is available. Without a build sheet or original sales invoice, it's very difficult to figure out if original came with argent silver hubcaps, stainless hubcaps, full wheel covers or whitewall tires. Does the family have a photo of the truck taken in the 60's?

The owner did say the tires were originally white walls. I’m also curious about the hubcaps as well.

tripleframe Sorry to threadjaxk, but when I tried to message you, it said your inbox is full and needs to be cleared out by you. You can reply to me privately.
In another thread, you mentioned a Hildy’s Silver Book? I am only familiar with the Hildy’s Blue Book. Can you explain, show cover photos? Thanks.
Do you know what flavor hubcaps we’re most common on the Custom Cabs? I assume the customer could choose when buying?
1966 F100 with outie wheels could have C4AZ-1130-A .. Stainless Steel with stainless steel letters on black background. Same as 1964 Galaxie. See upper pic in post #37 or post #38
There were two steel painted versions of this hubcap, one was painted white with white letters on red background, the other was painted argent with argent letters letters on red background.
These painted caps are not EZ to find. The stainless caps were also used on 1964 Ford Custom/Galaxie/Galaxie 500, so are somewhat easier to find.
None are reproduced.
Ford also offered 2WD & 4WD 15" wheel covers for F100's for the first time in 1966. Also used on 1966 Galaxie/LTD & the 4WD versions were standard equipment on 1967/77 Bronco.
Grwat info ND, thanks. I can say right now that wheel covers will tear the ever living heck out of the paint on the rim. I much prefer the hubcaps on the inner part of the rim. I’m really digging the stainless steel with black background.

@Christmas, I haven't used anything on him yet, that was a 3M green monster scratch pad and dawn soap, he's due for another scrub and then I'm going to use the mix of boiled linseed oil and mineral spirits in a small area and see how that looks
