I am back onto my ongoing engine swap in my 94 F150. It is a 5.0 and I am swapping in a 96 5.8. I have been waiting for spring so as not to disable my only 4WD and I think it is safe now. I also have the heavier transmission from the 96 but am going to just swap engines first and get the bugs worked out on that before switching transmissions which involves computer, wiring, driveshafts, etc. Question for today, my front fuel pump died a few months ago. I do have the rolling chassis here from the 96 I bought for the engine/trans. Is that fuel pump the same? I went onto Rock Auto and they show a dozen different fuel pumps, depending on steel/plastic, capacity and bunch of other confusing stuff. If that 96 one will fit and works, that would save me from buying a new one. Any help much appreciated. Thanks.

If both tanks are steel and the same capacity they should swap. If one is a 17 gallon versus a 19 gallon version I do see different fuel module part numbers. You could just swap the pump only between the hangers if the assemblies are different.
I have come to the conclusion that fuel pumps die because the electric motor wears out. I have also found this to be true at around 150k-180k. If you are anywhere near that, I would get a new one. I would not shop by price. Get a good name brand and leave the Chinese junk for someone else.

I just got 2 Delphi pumps and they were made in China.
Delphi has a name to protect and although their pumps may be made in China, that does not mean they are junk. That is why I clarified to get a name brand item, not the lowest price Chinese junk.
North America has priced themselves out of manufacturing arena years ago. Someday, China will too some day, some say it has already happened.
