Without officially knowing why it was dropped it's hard to say. Was it dropped because of component shortages, or incompatibility with some of the new tech, or issues with unit design....I have seen speculative posts, but nothing from Ford.
I’m not sure I understand the concept of adaptive steering…is that the feature that keeps you in the lane your traveling in ?
It is not lane keeping. It changes the steering ratio at low speeds such that it takes less turns of the steering wheel to achieve the same wheel angle. Helps with maneuvering at low speeds. Some like it. Some hate it.

Thanks for the explanation.
I own a 2017 F350 SRW XL STX…I know for sure it’s not equipped with adaptive steering.
I also own a 2022 F350 DRW Lariat…I misplaced my window sticker so I can’t check to see if my truck is equipped with that feature…it probably isn’t because I can’t tell any difference between the two trucks.
Adaptive steering was $1000 option for 2022. I have it on my truck and like it a lot so far. Maybe it wasn't a very popular option because of the cost.
I had it on my 2020 and opted to omit it on my 2022. I was fine with the functionality on the 2020, but quickly got used to "regular" steering on the 2022. I just wasn't interested in the long term potential headaches associated with it failing. Forum members have shown pictures of steering wheels completely upside down when Adaptive Steering fails. It also seems that Ford doesn't do a good job of stocking replacement parts in general, so having the potential for a wonky steering wheel wasn't high on my list. See the related threads below.
I had it on my 2020, Yuk! made the steering too loose. No feel of the road.
One of the post mentioned how to tell if it has it. Look through the front drivers side wheel well. If just behind the tire on the frame you see a bit piece of an aluminum bracket, then you have the adaptive steering.
My 19 F-450 has it. It was standard in the Platinum trim back then.
One thing the manufacturers do is after so many years they go over all the options and start to eliminate the low selling ones, so maybe the Adaptive Steering option was not selling very well so they eliminated it.

That post you are referring to would be false. That bracket you are describing is for the electronic power steering assist, not Adaptive steering. It's a completely different and unrelated feature introduced in MY2020. You can have that feature (and bracket) without Adaptive steering.
The Adaptive steering unit is housed inside the steering wheel itself, has been that way 17-22. The steering wheel with adaptive steering is physically different and can be identified by a bulge under the horn/airbag.
I have it in my '19 250 and have no complaints or issues with it yet.

Yep. My faith in Ford stocking parts, particularly when related to electronics, had not been strong to start with, last few years' delays and wait time people are reporting motivated me to order the simplest F250 I could last year to minimize downtime if anything needs fixing.
Is the feature that makes the steering wheel vibrate (providing the button on the dash is pushed) when you get to close to the painted line an option ? Or is it a standard feature on Lariats ?

That would be lane keep/departure alert. I wouldn't be surprised if that is now standard Lariat and up. It wouldn't be a stand alone option, part of a trim level or possibly option package. New for '23 is a lane keep assist feature which unlike the lane keep alert will actually steer you back in the lane. Not sure which trim or option package that comes with.
