Driveline Angles

Looking for some advice on best way to resolve u-joint working angles.

Was having some vibration at higher speed so I pulled my driveshaft and took to a local shop. They said it was pretty much roached so they swapped yokes, u joints, phased all that good stuff.

While it was out I checked angles and pinion angle was way off.

transmssion yoke is 7 degrees down. Driveshaft was 1.5 degrees down and pinion was 7 degrees down (I shimmed it to match the trans.) I did reinstall driveshaft after I got it back and vibration seemed to be gone. However I’m concerned about the u joint working angle.

From my calculation, Which could be wrong, I’m figuring my u joint working angle is 5.5 degrees which seems excessive compared to 3 degrees I’ve seen listed as maximum.

with all that, what is the best way to correct this to get back to three degrees or less Assume I need to shim under the trans cross member. Also assume I’d need to loosen engine mount bolts to do this? once I can work out the trans angle shimming rear end to match shouldn’t be a big deal.

Did you use the shims they make for the pinion angle?
