Heard a critter making noises while doing yardwork but didn't see anything nearby. Walk over to my truck, pop the hood, and a squirrel jumps out and takes off. Sucks. Fortunately, the damage appears minimal. Some nibbles on the black wire. Too bad I didn't fry him on my trip to Costco yesterday but also glad for minimal cleanup.
How would you go about repairing? Figure I'll splice and repair.
If it were between batteries I would just get some heat shrink and seal it up, but because it is between both batteries and chassis ground, I would want full copper to carry the load. You might be able to splice a repair in, but I would not leave it like that. Spray under there with peppermint.
See if you can find a cable splice with a set screw, splice in a cable, seal with waterproof (glue) shrink wrap...
I see they sell kits with a brass (looks like it) splice with a set screwed before to replace the terminal inline so I would think you could buy those types of splices by themselves...
