Hello all! For those who haven't been following my posts, We have a 2001 F150 SuperCrew (5.4L/2v, 2whl dr, auto trans, 245000 miles) that has a ABS light on. We also had a misfire in the #2 cylinder but we changed the COP and that appears to be fixed and the "Check Engine" light has gone out. Unfortunately, even though we've drive enough miles and drive cycles to clear codes, FORScan still shows a P1000 code. Here in California, most, if not all, smog shops won't do a smog check on a vehicle with a P1000 code so I can't register my truck.
The last time I checked the log in FORScan, a few days ago, it showed DTC's: It showed: DTC in PCM:P1000, DTC in GEM: B1318, and DTC in RAP: B2425. It also showed that it was unable to read the DTC in the ABS??
Today when I checked the log in FORScan, it shows everything above but it also shows another DTC in the GEM: DTC P0500?? When I look that code up it says it's related to the transmission speed sensor??
The check engine light is NOT on so I don't know why this code is showing in FORScan, especially since we haven't moved the truck more than a few feet since the last FORScan check.
Could this be the problem with the ABS light being on all the time? If so, why didn't this code come up sooner? Or is not related to the ABS system at all? I'm still a newbie using Forscan so I have no real idea of what I'm doing. I've found a few articles and videos on the internet but I can't find any real documentation on how to use it a 2001 F150. I can't even find the any drop-box links to spreadsheets on our 2001 F150 (but I admit I'm not too good at computers either) Having some printed info would be helpful for me, especially with my memory issues. If anyone here can offer any advice please know it's greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance
Thanks! Is the VSS the speed sensor on the transmission? Or is it a wheels speed sensor? Either way, could this cause the ABS light to come on the dash?

First find out what auto trans you have there may be more than one in 2001 idk. I have a 97 and the vss is on the tail shaft. The info may be on the driver door jam
Thanks everyone. It's kind of weird that that FORScan only showed the P0500 DTC today, and before? Plus< there is no Check Engine light on, which I thought would show up with the P0500
