Getting to the point where the rebuilt 300 is going in. I'm using the efi manifolds. I also have a Walker #45166 replacement y-pipe. Has anybody used the Walker pipe. I hear they're too wide for our bump side frames. If so did you modify an after market Walker or did you make something?
Thanks Joe. Oh by the way it's a 67 f100 2wd np435 if this matters.
Sorry I cant answer the question as mine is a 81 F100 2wd with the same trans.
I will tell you look in the pipes of that Y where they connect to make sure the hole is open up.
I have seen where the hole is half the size of the pipe and a choking point.
Mine was ok and did not need to be opened up.

I have a ‘67 also and I had heard the Walker down pipe would hit the frame and need to be modified.
So I used the stub tips of the efi pipes and had a muffler shop fabricate a Y-pipe off of them into a single exhast pipe and single Walker turbo muffle. Not too bad of a job.

ya mine was pretty bad I had to open it up with a die grinder.

I do have the original pipes that were cut right before the cat. I might have to build off those.
If you have the OEM pipes that came with the manifolds, I would recommend working off of those. I understand the tubing is of higher quality metal than any aftermarket stuff. I got the down pipes that came from the same truck as the manifolds, cut at the front of the cats, and worked off those. Upside also is mine have a cross-over tube just ahead of the cut that has a threaded bung for an AFI sensor.
If you have the Walker Y pipe why not try and see if it hits the frame or not and post what you find.
Because I wanted to be able to get the EXH system if needed I went with a 94 F150 front to rear less cat.
The 94 pipes are a little larger than the 81 F100 / F150 pipes.
I also wanted a little more sound out the tail pipe so went with Thrush welded muffler, a bolt in for the 94 system, again no cat.
I think it sounds pretty good at idle.

I was going to post what ever way I went. I’m hoping the walker part works, but I have the original set if I have to fab something up.
