I am at the point where I am ready to install my new flywheel, clutch and pressure plate. I got no info for torque specs on bolts. Any help would be appreciated
Flywheel specs… and should I use loctite?
and pressure plate bolts.
I would also want bell housing bolt torque requirements, but I’m not as worried about them since it is metal on metal.
As far as I can tell the inch and ft lbs are correct but not sure because of the wording. The master cylinder nuts are in inch lbs. You can get a Haynes Manual at most big box part stores. It might be very helpful for the installation information. Worth the price for the book.
Pressure plate 10 inch 15-20 Ft.lbs
11 inch 20-29
12 inch 15-20
Clutch housing to trans 40-50 ft lbs clutch master cylinder nuts ZF 89-124 inch lbs.
concentricSlave cylinder bolts 15-20 ft lbs
cross shaft to lever nut 50-70
Pedal to cross shaft nut 50-70
clutch release bearing travel for 7.5 .0425 inch for external slave cylinders Concentric slave cylinders .0425 inch
Thanks, anything for flywheel in there? And when you say clutch housing to trans… is that the same as bell housing? Sorry not familiar with all terminology.

Sorry but I'm in the same boat as you. All I did was copy what was in the book. RlA probably knows what it all means. There are a lot of details on how to install what and when and where in the book. I think you would be doing yourself a favor to get the Haynes for now. You can get it on Amazon also.
Yep, mine are 7/16-14 bolts. I will torque to 80-ish. What did you torque your pressure plate to? I just don’t want to go through the pain of dropping this tranny again haha. I dropped my first 2 trans for this project. Definitley a learning experience!
and mine is also a luk clutch and pressure plate. I had my flywheel respun as it wasn’t bad shape.
It's been a while since I've put a flywheel or pressure plate on a 460 but I really think these should be fine 7/16 - 20.
I would really, really steer clear of hardware store stuff here, too, especially on something critical like a flywheel bolt. Not only do you need the strength of a quality bolt, but you also need to get the length right -- if your bolts are too long, they may hit the block after passing through the crank flange. Too short and you're losing strength. Top quality ARP bolts are $20 from Summit https://www.summitracing.com/parts/a...2802/make/ford
At the very least, I'd go to the nearest O'Reilly's or AutoZone and get Dorman flywheel bolts - should be $6 or $7 for a set.
Oops, I am retaded, you are right. I am thinking of my bellhousing bolts🤦🏽♂️. I have proper flywheel bolts which are intact 7/16-20. My bad. Sorry for that.
Ok. I may have missed it, but did you ever say what you torqued your pressure plate bolts to? I think mine are 5/16. 8 bolts. Not sure if that is the same for an idi or not.
